TitleLetter from John Vaughan to his sister Eleanor Enthoven of Dol'rhyd, Dolgelley
DescriptionCommenting that he has heard that Kitchener has enlisted a million men - it will be difficult to train them. He is in a continuous battle which has lasted over a week. The Germans have very good artillery and are well organised and fed. He thinks the war will last a long time. He is disappointed with the French cavalry but the Germans are worse. They have charged at the Germans whenever they were in reach. He is expecting reinforcements of horses.
