TitleLetter from the Rev. William Ambrose ('Emrys') from Portmadoc [Porthmadog] to his cousin John Ambrose Lloyd
DescriptionHas sent in an awdl on 'Albert dda' to Swansea. 'My opinion is of course that some one must compose an awdl of extraordinary merit to stand higher than mine in the competition ... If Ican ascertain that my Awdl is to get the Chair, it is more than probable that I shall go to Swansea, as I have a meeting at Builth on Thursday the 27th of August. These secrets generally ooze out somewhere or other before the meeting ... If by some chance you may be thrown on the trail, you will I feel confident favour me with a line. The ficticious name is "Idwal."'
