TitleAccounts of St. Kitts plantation (John Queely, Manager)
Description(i) Account (1771). Especially interesting are the references to £1 16. 0. for flooring a dungeon (p.3) and the numerous taxes that were payable (p.4) (parish tax on negroes, public tax on the same, parish assessment on "the house in town", first moiety of the "General's tax"; in all £76 0.6. The accounts were examined and found correct by Aretas Akers (1 January 1772) a gentleman who himself was in receipt of £108 16. 6. for certain work done.
(ii) Copy letter from Queely (2 September 1771) of the terrible hurricane that ravaged the plantation of the 31st August. Also two notes from Major Madan and a letter from Aretas Akers (19 September 1772)
