| Teitl | Marriage settlement, with counterpart, of Robert, second surviving son of Thomas, Lord Viscount Bulkeley [afterwards Robert second Viscount] and Sarah, daughter of Daniel Harvey, of London, deceased, one of the Aldermen of the City (9 December,1654) |
| Disgrifiad | Marriage portion, £7,000; provision for jointure and priority of succession. Parties to the settlement were Elizabeth Harvey, mother of Sarah Harvey, her uncle, William Harvey, “doctor of physic” [one of the greatest pioneers of the study of medicine in this country, especially over the circulation of the blood], Eliab Harvey, another uncle. Exhaustive list of messuages and tenements, with tenants and undertenants, and schedule annexed of all leases granted upon any of these messuages and tenements. It seems that the Harvey family, for all the Scriptural names like Daniel and Eliab, were King's men and Cavaliers - their names are very conspicuously absent from the Acts and Ordinances of the Commonwealth and Protectorate |
