TitleRelease
Descriptionby William Griffith [of Coedana] to Pierce ap David ap Rees and Edward ap Hugh Gwyn, of Bettws y Gwynt in Mathafarn Wion, in trust for the use of William Griffith and his wife Jane during the term of their natural lives; after their decease, to their heirs legitimately begotten; if there are no such heirs, then to the use of William Davies [very modern for 1580!], second son of Pierce ap David, and his heirs; in default, to the third son, Maurice Davies. It is a mystery why the sons of Pierce ap David ap Rees were called Davies; moreover, the Pedigrees (135) supply the name of William [but no Davies attached], but not Maurice, Pierce ap David ap Rees was the first Pierce Lloyd of Lligwy, and Jane, wife of W.G., was his sister. Edward ap Hugh Gwyn was of the main Bodewryd line, and nephew to Pierce Lloyd. Accompanying the release is a declaration that the lawful attorney for "full and pacific possession” was William ap John Griffith
