TeitlThe peccadilloes of David ap Griffith ap Hoell ap Rees
DisgrifiadThe peccadilloes of David ap Griffith ap Hoell ap Rees, cousin and (as he said) heir of David ap Hoell ap Rees of Llanddyfnan: release "in perpetuum" (1 June, 1594) of Tyddyn y Fagwyr to Peter [or Piers] Mostyn not to Andrew Mostyn at all [he is the last of five witnesses, "Andro Mostyn”] as was the gravamen of the complainants in the Great Sessions case of 1596-7; a complete renunciation of all his right and title to Fagwyr in favour of Sir Richard Bulkeley (15 Nov., 1594), in which he describes himself as "of Che[a]dle in the Countye of Chester"; a document (16 July, 1596) by which, solemnly attested by six witnesses, and notwithstanding the renunciation of 1594, he manages to secure from Sir Richard "a some of money" for finally abjuring his interests in Llanddyfnan; last of all Thomas Mostyn, son of the Peter or Piers Mostyn who was lessee under the false claims of David ap Gr. since 1594, quite as solemnly, in consideration of "a certaine some of money" surrenders (1 Oct., 1597) his adventitious interest in Fagwyr to Richard Cheadle of Beaumaris, who (together with George ap Llywelyn) had held it by lease from Sir Richard since 16 June, 1594. Peter Mostyn the father, once living at Tre Castell, had been receiver of Crown rents and reliefs in the hundreds of the county of Anglesey
