| AdminHistory | The Menai Society of Natural Science and Literature was established at Bangor, north Wales, in January 1879 with the aim of encouraging the study of science and literature. By 1880 membership had grown to 205. Between 1897 and 1903 the Society was very active in holding courses of lectures and readings on a variety of topics. It also published articles and set up a library for members' use. |
