TitleAn Abridgement of all Sea-Lawes by William Welwod
DescriptionCopy belonging to, inter alios, William Bold of Tre-yr-ddol, co. Anglesey, Esq, with his name and address in ms. The book has been interleaved with larger sheets of paper, probably in the 18th. century, on some of which are notes on mariners' wages; cases in marine law; copy affidavits to obtain a chief mate's protection; copy form of an "Award of Salvage"; copy assignment of a policy of insurance; etc. Other name in a variety of hands, occurring on the actuel pages of text, include George Middleton: Thomas Williams; Thos. Welmett; Hugh Parry; Richard Parry (Recorder of Pwllhely); Robert Cobreth and William Gossage, all between 1663 and 1696. The text itself (pp.17 to 253 and introduction survive) is much stained. Blank pages are numbered 1 to 16, intended perhaps to carry a ms. copy of the missing part.
