TeitlNature diary 'Book VII (I)'
DisgrifiadA diary recording Whalley's time in Essex following his arrival back from Uganda. Contains many accounts of walks around the Happy Valley with various birds listed that have been spotted on these walks. Records are kept of the weather throughout the diary. Many entries are quite brief and there are sometimes large gaps between dates e.g., there is one entry for November 1969. It doesn't have the same level of consistency as earlier diaries, most likely due to Whalley's work. March 21st 1970 contains an interesting recording of a dawn chorus where Whalley notes all the different bird sounds he can hear alongside the times. There are records of a 3 month trip to Soeul in 1974 which tell of the journey and records the different birds and weather spotted there, alongside a newspaper clipping speaking of his adventures and research there. There are also many loose articles in the rear of the diary, letters from the RSPB and letters of thanks with assorted notes.
