AdminHistoryAccording to the "History of Friars School" by Barber and Lewis (Bangor, 1901), "In 1561, the school trustees obtained Royal letters patent incorporating the Dean and Chapter as governors of the school, the Chapter at that time being a body of twelve persons. It was not, however, until 1568 that the statutes for the regulation of the school were settled, a curious and excellent set of rules...In 1571, the school lands were conveyed to the Dean and Chapter, thus concluding the entire legal foundation of the school."
