AdminHistory | This J.W. was son of the Rev. WIlliam Williams, rector of Newborough, one of the Williams family of Glanrafon, and managed just at this period to dissipate a large part of the estate left him by his ancestors (see Pedigrees, 138, 195). Later, Tyddyn Bach became the property of Thomas Griffith of Tyddyn in Penmynydd (probably a son of Griffith Rowlands), and though there are documents of 1808 (DIN/250-DIN/252) that seem to show that the Newborough tenement had passed into the hands of Samuel Grindley of Tregarnedd, yet, as late as January 1818 it is Thomas Griffith who has to pay the £28.10.0. levied upon him as a proprietor (with others) for obtaining and executing the Act for inclosing lands in the parishes of Llangeinwen and Newborough (DIN/254). |
