30 December, full page account of The Times' report of an assault on Robert Wynne by a burglar at Garthewin. After being hit, and the man having entered the house, Robert Wynne "barricaded himself in his bedroom & let himself drop from the bedroom window. Rushed to the Housekeeper's Lodge. He went to the Police, who telegraphed to Abergele. The policeman came on a cycle & caught the man at Abergele with Robert's money in his Pockets". |
