TeitlBook of Recipes (Cookery)
Disgrifiadi. Original script carefully and successfully lined out. ii-vii. Index to recipes on p.p. 1-116. p.p. 1-116. Recipes, one to each page. p.p. 117-141. Recipes continued in a different hand. p. 142. Seems to be a careful description of the garden at Henblas. There is clear evidence in this ms. of at least four different hands - the index script is different from that of the first group of recipes, the second group is much more modern than the first, while another hand altogether numbered the first group of recipes (p.p. 1-116) and wrote the garden description on p. 142. Although it is tolerably certain that Mrs Elizabeth Morgan did not write either index or recipes or description, her hand cannot be mistaken at the top of p. 117 ('Lemon Wine', but no recipe follows) and at the foot of p.142. Some wag was interpolated on p. 85b - "How to cure the Pip" - followed by a blank sheet, and on p. 86b - "A Receipt how to keep away the Devil", which hath no air of conviction about it!
