DisgrifiadThis William Smith succeeded to the Vaynol estate by the complicated devolution described in Pedigrees, 368; he in turn bequeathed the estate to his nephew Thomas Assheton. A.P. Assheton, probably a brother of Thomas, witnessed this lease of 1756. Charles Evans is here described as "of Vaynol" - for the explanation, see HENB/23-25.
