TeitlPapers relating to the deviation of old Bangor-Caernarvon turnpike road
DisgrifiadDeviation by a suggested triangular negotiation between Lord Boston (whole land was necessary for the purpose), the Caerns. Turnpike Trustees, and the Bangor-Caernarvon Railway Co. (1852-1853); Lord Boston, however, insisted on dealing with the Trustees only (LLIG/315-316).
The papers, 10 in number, contain some tiresome letters from the clerk of the Turpike Trust, reiterating how difficult it was to get the members together, and advocating special approaches to the Railway Co up to the peremptory letters of Lord Boston and his agent. The ultimate charges for the Trustees were £44.6.6. The particulars of these charges, together with a plan of the Gallt-y-Bush deviation by J.R.Haslam are contained in LLIG/323 (May, 1853)
