TeitlConfirmation by C. Bunt Dyer to the Clerk of the Peace for co. Anglesey "of the lock up House at Amlwch"
DisgrifiadThe land for this purpose having been originally given by William Lewis, Lord Dinorben (29 December 1846) through inadvertence, he having conveyed it in fee simple, when in fact he (Lord Dinorben) only held it under a lease for lives granted him by the Lord Bishop of Bangor, which lease did not determine before 1857. Then followed leasing transactions between the legal representatives of successive Bishops and the aforesaid Dyer (in 1857 and 1864); finally however, Lady Dinorben straightened out matters by buying the fee simple in the property for £115 (although the late Lord Dinorben had by his inadvertent conveyance in 1846 conveyed the fee simple in the premises for £19.19.0 only). C.B. Dyer was a prominent Amlwch mining agent, and had an intimate family connection with the Paynters of Maes y Llwyn.
