Disgrifiad | For such a comparatively small property, this is a particularly intricate (though interesting) document, which refers to the marriages of various generations of the Madocks family, the connection of John Maddock's father with prominent peers of the realm, and with William Alexander Madocks (his brother), the builder of the Portmadoc embankment, and the virtual founder of Tremadog (which is called after him). There is a long schedule of the relevant deeds attending the devolution of the property and an accompanying certificate of the Accountant General of the Court of Chancery (dated 21 & 27 March 1821). For the Madocks family, see J.E. Griffith ; Pedigrees, 315. |
