TeitlAssignment of judgement by Hester Meyrick of Bodorgan to Rowland Jones of Maesoglan.
DisgrifiadThe story began with a penal bond of £100 (to cover £50) given by Thomas Meredith of Celliniog to Thomas Williams of Cwirt (this in 1731); judgement for the aforesaid sum obtained at Great Sessions; death of Thomas Williams and appointment of his son William (rector of Newborough) as his legal heir; death of William Williams in 1746; Mary Williams, his widow, sets over the debt to William Williams of Glan'rafon (Bach), co. Caernarvon, he to Owen Meyrick the elder of Bodorgan (this in 1755). Owen Meyrick died in 1760, his son Owen Meyrick the younger, in 1770, leaving his widow Hester as executrix; she now sets over the Meredith debt, now increased from £50 to £110, to Rowland Jones aforesaid. Before her marriage Hester Meyrick was Hester Putland, daughter of John Putland of London, which accounts for the Putland Meyricks of the next generation (Pedigrees, 127).
