William Jones, who had married one of the Griffiths of Carreg Lwyd, and purchased part of the sometime inheritance of the Bolds in Llanedwen) advanced £1,850 to the widow Elizabeth Lewis upon the security of certain specified portions of the Llysdulas estate; eventually, at his death, his interests devolved upon his daughter Emma, whose first husband was Robert Hughes of Plas Coch and her second (at the time of this indenture) Col. William Peacock of the Anglesey militia, and a native of county Clare in Ireland. By this document the Peacocks assign the mortgage for £1,850 to Anna Lloyd of Cesail Gyfarch, spinster, a particularly interesting personality - grand-daughter of two distinguished Bishops, Bishop Humphrey Humphreys of Bangor and Hereford (mother's side), Bishop William Lloyd of Norwich (father's side). She was great-grand-daughter to another Bishop, Dr. Robert Morgan of Bangor. |
