DisgrifiadArrangements for jointure and priority succession; parties to the settlement included members of historic families in South Wales and the Border such as George Rice of Newton (Dynevor), John Scudamore of Kentchurch in Herefordshire, Stephen Colby of Ffynnone, and George Bowen of Llwyn Gwair. This H.Owen was afterwards fifth baronet, d.1786, and father to Sir Hugh Owen, sixth baronet, who on his death in 1809 left the estates to his nephew John (Lord) Owen, the Sir John Owen who sold a good portion of his Anglesey lands to the Rev. Edward Hughes and his son (docts. 47-51).
