Disgrifiad | Having received no word from Bodewryd in 16 days, the writer gave over all hopes and concluded he was perfectly forgotten; but yesterday he received her letter dated the 2nd, which was doubly acceptable because it brought him an assurance of her health. Has himself been hitherto extremely well apart from the beginnings of a small cold; has only had two fits of headache since All Saints. Is now offered £700 fine for Bangor house or £50 rent after 21 years to the Bishop and all to be new built into 28 houses of brick for tenants. Thinks he will accept this. Plans to provide for his daughter Peggy by laying out £100 in her name to the King upon the security of an Act of Parliament now passing. The £100 is never to be paid back, but there will be security on the revenue of the Crown for £100,000 to pay interest at £10 per year to 10,000 persons; when any of those persons die his interest is to be divided among the survivors until there are but ten left, and whoever happened to be one of ten, will have £10,000 a year for life. It is looked upon here to be a good provision for a daughter. |
