TitleLetter from Edward Owen at London to his uncle Dr Edward Wynne, Chancellor of Hereford
DescriptionHis uncle shall have Mr Martin's answer to his Queries when he returns to town, Mr Gibson has been exceedingly civil to the writer since his coming to town; he calls to see him often and shows him his faults which has been of some service to him; he is likewise pleased to tell him that he is improved beyond what he could have imagined. Has a design to put into execution provided he can have the wherewithall to support himself. Perhaps three or four years more would, with constant and hard labour, bring him to a tolerable degree of perfection in painting, but how to live in the meantime he cannot tell. Thinks of returning to Anglesey to spend a few months there during the long vacation. The town is very empty and no business stirring, not even for the best painters. If he went to Wales he could return when the Company did and then perhaps he might pick up a few pence among the candidates of Angleset to pay for paints.
Dicky is as low in cash as the writer is
