Disgrifiad | Had received two letters from his brother before Wynn's came to hand to inform him of his (Wynn's) disposition towards him. What Wynn was pleased to write is the severest censure on the writer's conduct. Has only this small vindication to offer = that the share his friends were to bear in his miscarriage was the greatest burden upon his mind; as for any immorality, hoped Wynn never suspected him of that. Wynn was pleased to recommend that he continues his studies in the law; he has no disgust for it but would not willingly put it out of his power to disappoint him again. If he is to remove to another employment, it will be easy to set out in a frugal manner so as to live within a very small fortune, but to fly from all his friends and quit the familiarity of gentlemen of fortune, though his equals as to profession, is very grating. Thinks the possibility of a relapse is a sufficient reason for changing his condition. Thanks Wynn for sending him £50 |
