TeitlLetter from John Owen at Dublin to his mother, Mrs Ann Owen at Penrhos
DisgrifiadBegs her forgiveness for his long silence. Sends an account of the corn which he has disposed of. "Dear mother if you can spare me a little money it will do me great service, for since I am become a solicitor I have found a new way of laying out of money". Gives an account of the money he has spent on various essentials - a wig, 11/6 pair of shoes. 7/3. pound of teas, .8/-; pound of coffeee, 3/6; two grammars 3/6 - by which she may see what a 'gape' it has made in his purse.
Thanks her for the lobsters which he has received. Neddy is well and desires to be remembered to her. Cannot persuade him to stay any longer with him for he tells the writer his furlong is cut. He sent the pound and a half of tea and will buy coffee tomorrow
