Disgrifiad | Is bound for Ludlow on Monday where he expects to meet David Ellis. The doctor carried off Cousin Harry Morgan to Ross, but the writer, having some business still unfinished keeps his amanuensis a week longer; when that is over he will desptach him to his post which is to be coadjuctor to Mr Tudor who opened a school at Ross on Monday. Finds there is no encouragement to be expected at Jesus College, so cousin Robin must steer his course as well as he can another way. He is an improvable youth, very fit for a college, but in Jesus College; which the writer is sorry to see is much altered for the worse, they mind politics more than religion. Had a letter from William Owen last week in which he says he had some thoughts of coming to Hereford above a month ago but is out of horses. Thinks it is William Owen's best way to take a jaunt and desires his mother to tell him he knows what is to be had in Hereford, viz, books and short commons; food proper for a student if he pleases. Will write by David Ellis to let Aunt Lloyd know how the scheme is laid touching cousin Robin - not to go to Oxford till Lent to take his degree; will lack nothing in point of learning at Ross, which for ought the writer knows will be a better Univesity for him |
