TeitlCorrespondence from J. W. Marshall at Trewyn Isaf, Ty Croes, to Lord Stanley
DisgrifiadConcerns the proposed explosives factory (see no. 201) on Towyn Trewan common. Refers to Lord Stanley's interest in an action brought in 1888 to restrain the late Capt. Thomas from encroaching on the said common; the present owner of the manorial rights wishes to sell the freehold of the land in question for development as an explosives factory, and the County Council has, by a small majority, recommended the granting of a licence for same. The damage this could do to the area as a health resort. A committee of landowners and commoners has been formed. Lord Stanley's interest is solicited on behalf of his tenants.
