TeitlCorrespondence from R. Wiilliams Bulkeley at Baron Hill to Lord Stanley
DisgrifiadHis hatred of politicians; does not think Lord Stanley's suggestion of asking the M.P. to refrain from voting against Church and land reforms, will work; the M.P. in question would perhaps leave these two issues out of his own programme, "... but he has to do his paymaster's bidding". The Radicals are "hot" on disendowment and land laws, but do not "care a rap" about disestablishment; "... our best form of government is a weak radical one, in all but foreign affair, but Lord Stanley don't seem to be doing well in the Foreign Office just now".
