TeitlCounty Election of 1796 (Sir Robert Williams, Bt., 690, Lord Penrhyn, 370)
Letter from Samuel Grindley, Lord Newborough's agent, to Lord Uxbridge
DisgrifiadReporting the determination of Lord Newborough to stand poll. The writer's personal opinion is that many who have promised their support to Lord Penrhyn could come over to Newborough. Glyn Wynn, on the other hand, would advise Newborough to join Robert Williams if he has no chance of winning the seat himself. Newborough, meanwhile, is "quite exasperated" with Lord Penrhyn and with the Bishop and Archdeacon - "in short he is as your Lordship could wish him to be"
