Teitl	Correspondence concerning the conduct of Sergeant Richard Roberts
Disgrifiad	His conduct towards visitors is insulting and his flagrant misdemeanours are continually being brought to the notice of the Marquess. In May 1851, the marquess orders his dismissal and his successor is another "old pensioner" John Roberts, late of the 43rd Regiment, "A quite well-behaved man making a small living by selling hats". Among the applicants for the post appears William Owen "Y Pab". In his letter Owen states that he was the author of a pamphlet "in defence of the most Noble Marquess of Anglesey... at that time I received the honourable title of a papist and went so hateful amongst my countrymen that noone would employ me". Should the Marquess grant him the post, he would inform the Visitors "what sieges and battles that happened in the Castle far better than any other man in this Country" (1376)
