Alt Ref NoBHILL/134-135
TitleWrit of Oliver, Lord Protector, to Sir Hugh Owen of Bodeon and eight other gentlemen, ordering any two or more of them to repair to the domiciles of Thomas, Lord Viscount Bulkeley, Robert Bulkeley (his son, and later second Viscount) and Thomas Bulkeley [another son, later known as Thomas Bulkeley of Dinas] to receive their "acknowledgement" in answer to a writ of covenant depending at Great Sessions, between the Bulkeleys and Owen Holland of Berw.
DescriptionThe Bulkeleys,"as we are informed", are so impotent of their bodies [all three of them!] that without danger of their lives they are not able to travel to the Justices of Great Sessions [et Beaumaris!], and so "their constitutions must be considered". Three of the gentlemen proceeded to Baron Hill on the next day and got the"acknowledgement" signed by the three Bulkeleys.
Two documents of a somewhat breezy and unorthodox character
