Teitl
"The answeare of William Nicholes Doctor of Divinity and parson of Cheadle for his part to the bill and complaynt of Dorythy Buckley widdow, Charles Hoskyns, and Edmund Hoskyns, esquires, complaynants"
Disgrifiad
No date, but it must be approximately 1641-2 (see Dorothy B.'s petition in doct. 319). It cannot be called a very satisfactory answer; it simply consists of pleading ignorance and bare denials of confederating with Humphrey Bulkeley to detein rents and profits. There are references to Dr. Nicholis in Ormerod's Cheshire, III, 632
