| Description | Release by Richard Kerver, son of John Kerver, late of Beaumaris, deceased, Ieuan ap Gwilym ap Ieuan of Penbol [penboll] and Margaret vch Ieuan ap Gwilym, the wife of the aforesaid Richard Kerver, to Sir Richard Bulkeley [the second] of all right, title, and claim to any interest they have in Beaumaris. This document serves to cast considerably new light on the Kervers of Rhosbeirio: that they came originally to Beaumaris; that some time before 1549, they had left Beaumaris for the Amlwch district; that the John Kerver who figures as the first of the family in Pedigrees, p.2, was probably a son of the Richard Kerver of this release, and grandson of the John who lived at Beaumaris. Document 563 has earlier references to the Kervers (29 January, 1542-3) and document 560 a reference earlier still (29 July, 1536) |
