Alt Ref NoBHILL/599
TitleRelease by Ellen Broadhead, widow, late wife of Bartholomew Broadhead, and William Broadhead, son and heir of B.B., to John Needham ["Nydam"], of that water grist mill nigh unto British Brook (moiety only), but only in trust for Arthur Bulkeley, son of Sir Richard Bulkeley [second], and later of Coedan, and ancestor to the Bulkeleys of Brynddu
DescriptionIt was practically a demise in fee-farm, as there was an annual rent of twopence payable on the Feast of Pentecost. These Broadheads of Beaumaris were closely related to the Bulkeleys, Ellen the widow being daughter to Edmund Bulkeley of Conway and so niece to Rowland Bulkeley. The Anglesey pronounciation of the surname is usually Brodiart, and William signs his name, very stiffly, as Brodard
