Alt Ref NoBHILL/725-726
TitleIndenture of bargain and sale, with a bond of obligation in £150 by Roger Whitley of Great St Helen's, City of London, to Robert, second Viscount Bulkeley, upon the Red House in Beaumaris, alias Pla Coch, in Church Street; consideration, £75; Whitley warrants his true title and property in the premises, and guarantees them against any persons claiming from or under Sir Thomas Cheadle, deceased.
DescriptionTwo points: this is one of the very few references to the Cheadles of Penmon after the Restoration; if the date "1676" at the foot is correct, then the regnal year "nine and Twentieth Charles II" (i.e.,1677-1678) is incorrect. Which is to be accepted? The first, as the dorse unequivocally states that livery of seisin was executed on "22 March,1676", i.e., 22 March,1677
