| Description | Much the most interesting paper is that which tells of Sir Thomas Cheadle of Lleiniog's effort to redeem the same mortgage, and the terms by which Lord Bulkeley bought off Cheadle's interest. In view of the death of Lord Bulkeley's son at the hands of one of the Cheadles soon after, and the hopelessly bitter relations between the Bulkeleys and Cheadles for over 20 years, it is somewhat difficult to understand how an atmosphere congenial to the above transaction was possible. Major Richard Cheadle, who was accused of murdering young Bulkeley, is one of the witnesses in the document |
