TitleDoom and award
Descriptionof Sir Richard Bulkeley [the first] and Dame Catherine his wife upon matters in dispute between John Griffith of Parys [Amlwch] and Humphrey his; John Griffith to occupy and enjoy the farm of Tre Barys [i.e., Parys] in the township or Trysglwyn Ednyfed, according to a lease made to Thomas Griffith his father, Humphrey to make John a sufficient release in law before Wednesday next and own the knowledge of it before the Justice of North Wales at the next Anglesey Great Sessions, and also at the same time, deliver up the old lease. John is to make a deed in fee simple to Humphrey upon Trewyn in the same township, acknowledge the same at the Sessions and deliver up all deeds and writings concerning the premises. H. must allow John to have his choice of the household stuff at Parys, but is to have himself £4 in recompense and half the corn according to the will of his brother William, deceased [to whom Pedigrees, 125, have only an obscure notice].
It is a novel element in awards to have a lady act as one of the arbitrators; but it must be remembered that Dame Catherine Bulkeley was daughter to the third Sir William Griffith of Penrhyn, from whom the Parys family were also descended
