| Description | Four documents relating to the Bodafon lands of Elizabeth vch Thomas and William Owen [Pulkin] her son; deed of mortgage with a lease under the Statute of Uses to Pierce Lloyd of Lligwy with a proviso for redemption by paying £18.10.0. by 20 Nov., 1698; the release of the former mortgage by Thomas Jones of Shrewsbury and an additional consideration of £10.13.6. (10 Sept.,1708), together with a bond of obligation by Elizabeth and W.O.P. in £68. The last stage is reached with two further documents - a lease and release (10 & 11 May, 1721) by William Owen [Pulkin] now of the parish of Penrhos and a slater, of the Bodafon lands to Richard, fourth Viscount Bulkeley, who has paid £34 to the executors of Thomas Jones of Shrewsbury and Carreg Hova, deceased, and £40 in hand to W.O.P. (in the £40 lands of W.O.P. in Penrhos are also included). It seems that W.O.P. was to have the use of the lands during his life (but he must have been an old man by 1721, if his very illiterate and shaky signature proves anything) |
