TitleCopy deed : On the dorse: "Copy Deed of Covts from Mary Bulkeley [widow of Rowland Bulkeley of Porthamel] to her son [Richard, who died without issue, and left the estate to Francis, who burdened it with bonds of obligation] to Accept of Particular Lands for "Dower".
DescriptionRefers to [a friendly?] action at Great Sessions against her son in which the judgment has not yet been entered Mary Bulkeley feels assured her case is strong enough for the Sheriff of the county to have an order to execute a writ of seisin; this document declares what she will be contented with as thirds and which seems agreed to by Richard. Long list of messuages and tenements in Anglesey; one notices how yeomen Pulestons were settled in the county - John at Melin Llangefni, and Hugh holding Bulkeley land at Llanrhuddlad. Special reference and provision in the agreement to Magdalen Beale alias Bulkeley of an annuity of £15. The only Magdalen in the Porthamel pedigree was a great-aunt to young Richard; where the name Beale came from is at present quite obscure (it is natural to believe that she was married to a gentleman of that name)
