Whoever Griffith Roberts exactly was, he had a marvellously fine signature. What moved Sir John bodvel to take interest in a Gorddinog messuage is not clear; all we know is that his second wife was a daughter to Sir John Wynn of Gwydyr, and his aunt Ann married Simon Williams of Wig.
