Alt Ref NoBHILL/4967
TitleValuation of part of the Baron Hill Estate, as taken in the year of 1827
DescriptionAll in Anglesey, mainly in commotes Menai and Tindaethwy. Very reasoned and candid observations; some farms are unhesitatingly described as ill-managed; other tenants are accused of over-taxing the land with corn-crops. Tenants' case put very convincingly, e.g., the loss of trade at Ceint Bach public house in Penmynydd by the diversion of the mail-road to Holyhead and diminution of land at Cwingar in Llanbedr Goch by the working of limestone quarries there
