Pages 5 and 6 have his own "Publisher's Announcement", in which he claims that "more things can be said with ink and pen, than by a printing press, and that there are reasons more than one - why this work is being published to and for the whole world by hand and with pen and ink. Others may make MS copies from copies, wherever they they (sic) find them, and sell them for what they will. The author will make and sell autograph copies (except those that are, as is this one, presented) for one hundred dollars a copy. (Signed) Adair Welcker 214, Pine Street, San Francisco, Calif." The final page has a printed notice "... added by Adair Welcker, of San Francisco, to the last Edition of "For People Who Laugh". |
