DescriptionBason's interests seem more balanced as he talks of politics, trade unions, religion, literature and family life. This diary also contains two print-outs of email correspondence (dated 2007) between the Bason family regarding birth and marriage certificates and family history.
Bason mentions his visit to London on Sectional work, where he enjoyed plays at the Apollo Theatre and the Adelphi Theatre (10 March 1925).
Preached at the church in Bala, reveals that many of the congregation choose to be absent due to Bason's political views and the fact that he is a lay preacher. He comments that he has "never preached party politics from the pulpit and I pray to God I never will" (15 March 1925).
Bason states that he had a very bad time in London on Sectional Council work. He worries about the unemployment of men which creates poverty and unhappiness (9 Nov 1925).
Bason describes the poverty in Bala, two families living in two-roomed houses where their young children have passed away (11 Nov 1925).
