DescriptionJack was the youngest of eight children born to Helen Susanna Bond and William Thomas Bason. This is the only remaining diary of Jack Bason's. It is evident from this diary that he shared his father's passion for politics.
In the first entry Jack Bason states that each evening he will write an account of that day and it will be as true as possible. He then goes on to mention a trip to the dentist, his father, and his brother, Bill (1 Jan 1945).
After hearing the news regarding the fall of Warsaw to the Russians, Jack Bason rejoices (17 Jan 1945). He talks of the people who have suffered and the misery the city has seen.
Jack Bason occasionally mentions his health, he claims here that "my bronchitis is a very long time clearing and it hurts me a great deal" (31 March 1945).
