TitleWill of the Rev. Robert Prichard, Rector of Rotherfield Peppard, Oxon., and of Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr in co. Denbigh
DescriptionProved 5 May 1848. Bequeaths farms in the parishes of Llanbeblig and Llanfaglan - Tyddyn Eiddw and Penygelli Isaf - to his four nieces, daughters of his brother Richard as joint tenants; after the decease of the longest liver of them, to his godson Robert Lloyd Roberts, infant grandson of his late sister Margaret (wife of the Rev. Robert Roberts, vicar of Llanrhaeadr D.C., and mother of the Rev. Robert Lloyd Anwyl Roberts of Llangwyfan); money, securities, and chattels to his nephew, the Rev. Hugh Prichard of Dinam, who also is to be sole executor. Special bequests to his nephews R.W. Prichard of Liverpool and the rector of Llangwyfan, the latter to have (inter alia) all his copies of the "Gentleman's Magazine" from 1808 to date; also to his nieces Ellen (or Eleanor) wife of the rector of Llangwyfan, and mary, wife of Owen Owen of Gadlys by Beaumaris [spelt Gadly in the copy]; annuity of £12 for an old servant. It is to be remembered that the farms in the Caernarvon district ultimately came to the testator by the will of his godfather Robert Nanney in 1767 (documents DIN/36 and DIN/37), but it is somewhat of a mystery why four nieces (Ann, Catherine, Margaret, and Anna Eliza Prichard) are to benefit from the will of 1847, but only three from the consols settlement of 1845 (DIN/154), Ann, who died in 1868 not having been included (perhaps the 1845 document as it stands is not altogether complete, the only signature being R.P. himself).
