| Description | Letters: Richard Wynne to his brother Robert William Wynne. The first three largely concern Richard's new car, the money needed to maintain it, and the possibility of hiring a chauffeur. In the first: "We are both getting better now at driving the car...We find it rather strenuous driving through a small town when there is much traffic...Nanette drove through Godalming High Street the other day fairly successfully. I haven't yet tackled it." In the second: "it requires a good deal of practice & so does driving with lamps after dark, as the authorities make you darken your lights". Remarks on the war, also in the second letter: "Everyone seems to think that the Germans cannot break through the British lines in France & I don't think we will be able to break through the German lines but we may be able to starve them out if we wait long enough". In all the first three letters, Richard remarks on the weather. Letter four wishes his brother a happy birthday.
