Description | Their main interest is to cast new light on the Price or Prees family. Edward Price's sister Mary was already married to Edward Evans, a tailor of Llanddaniel, before the will of 1683; these papers prove that there was a son John Edwards, a labourer of Rhoscolyn, and a daughter Ann, married to a John David of Llanidan, also a labourer, (the Pedigrees are silent about this Ann (117)).
In the group are mortgages and assignments of mortgages, in which figure the names William Jones of Plas Gwyn, the Robertses of Gaerau and Castellior, also William Bold of Llanedwen. 59 says that part of the mortgage money was paid by Edward Evans on Borth fair day, Ffair y Borth, (15th September, 1710), 63 that a sale was held at Rhosbothan on 17th February, 1713-4, when a sundial was sold for one penny. The consideration paid in 1715 by rector Owen Lloyd of Llansadwrn, was £14 to the representatives of the Price family, and £310 to the last assignee, William Bold. |
