Description | Sent to Plas Coch by W.G.Haslam 12th April 1862. It was very natural to send Coed Helen papers on this journey, because of the very close relationship between the two houses: the first Sir W.Bulkeley Hughes of Plas Coch married the heiress of Coed Helen, and eventually that marriage led to the accession of a branch of the Hughes family to the Caernarvon estate (Pedigrees, 202). It will be found later (HENB/1176-1185) that the Coed Helen - Henblas connection was equally close, and led to Warren E. Evans being one of the trustees named in the will of Lloyd Warren George Hughes of Coed Helen in 1906. |
