Title | Lease by the Rev. Robert Morgan, B.D., of Porthllongdy ("Pollondy" in doct.) and rector of Llanddyfnan, to William Lloyd, rector of Trefdraeth, his father-in-law, upon Tyddyn Murddyn Poeth, Tyddyn Mab y Garn, and the moiety of Murddyn y Marchog - all in Llaneilian - "to the only use & behoof of Margaret, daughter of the said Robert Morgan"; 21 years; consideration, £10, with an annual rent of fourpence, to be paid on 1 November each year. |
Description | Several points of interest: R.M. not yet a D.D.; he lived in Porthllongdy; both he and Lloyd were still beneficed clerics, and had not been ousted by the Puritan Propagators; Margaret must have been very young (she was later to marry Edward Wynne of Bodewryd, another rector of Llanddyfnan, and become the mother of Dr. Edward Wynne of Bodewryd, Chancellor of the Diocese of Hereford). The two first witnesses are Margaret's mother Ann and her uncle Pierce Lewis, registrar of Bangor - both have a neat clear script. |
