TitleDeed to lead the uses of a fine upon the messuages of Carrog alias Ty Gwyn yng Ngharrog, Y Gromlech (alias Scubor Ucha), Tyddyn Owen David Owen, Mynydd Carrog, Tyddyn y Capel, Pen'rallt, Tyddyd Gwinhidw and Rhyd Bottin, all in the parish of Llangristiolus
DescriptionThe chief parties to the transaction were William Morgan of Henblas and John Owen of Presaddfed (the elder, father of the John Owen who became M.P. for Anglesey in the middle years of the 18th century).
This transaction was really the culmination of another (13 July, 1694) by which William Morgan had, to all intents and purposes, bought off the rights of various mortgages in the lands of Marcus Trevor, Viscount Dungannon - he was the somewhat worthless son of Ann Lewis Dowager Viscountess, and had frittered away the old Lewis estate at Presaddfed (the nucleus of the ancient patrimony had been bought by the John Owen whose signature often appears on the dorse of this doct. of 1694).
