Alt Ref NoHENB/352-353
TitleAppointment and release by Hugh Evans of Henblas to the Governors of Queen Anne's Bounty of various parcels in the farm of Llwynbedw, parish of Clynnog, for the augmentation of the revenue of the curacy of Beddgelert
Consideration, £400
DescriptionThis document, as it stands, is not in any way complete, and O.A. Poole the attorney points out some legal difficulties in the way (HENB/353). In a marginal note Poole says that Richard Pugh was the then rector: in fact he was not rector at all, but perpetual curate, and was only instituted there on 1 December 1813. Perhaps the most valuable information in HENB/352 is the schedule of deeds which prove how Llwynbedw became Trefeilir property (and Henblas afterwards). The legal difficulties cannot have stood in the way very long. Poole put a few posers on title to the celebrated conveyancer Richards of Lincoln's Inn (soon to be Baron of the Exchequer) who wrote thus upon them (9 August 1813). "Upon perusal of Mr Poole's answers I am satisfied with the Titles. Mr Poole is a very honorable Man". Surely the biggest compliment O.A. Poole got in his whole life!
